Do you create custom meal plans?
No, Bernard likes to create a framework for clients to work with that allows flexibility and freedom of choice. In addition, in Bernard’s state, meal plans can only be given out by licensed nutritionists and registered dieticians.
May I use an app to journal?
Yes, if you answer all the questions in the food journal provided and the journal kept in the app is sent to Bernard’s email. Your fitness journal would be best kept in the Microsoft Word document Bernard provides and reattached to emails for weekly check ins.
Do you help people with eating disorders or other serious medical conditions?
When it comes to nutrition, no, that is outside of Bernard’s scope of practice and he would have to direct you to registered dietician, licensed nutritionist or have you talk with your physician. In terms of personal training, you would need a medical clearance form completed by your physician.
How long until I see or experience results?
It depends, results may vary from person to person considering your health history, genetics, stress levels, etc. Everyone has their own race to run, it’s all about personal progress and embracing the journey.
Do I need fitness equipment?
Not at all, Bernard can make workouts only involving bodyweight and/or using common safe household objects.
Can I exercise with an injury?
Yes, as long you are medically cleared by your physician with a completed medical clearance form.
What happens if I don’t like my workout and/or can’t do an exercise?
Just let Bernard know so he can change it but give it an honest try first.
May I share my fitness plan and nutrition guide with others to follow?
It’s not advisable considering guides and plans are made specifically for you and no one else. Others should contact Bernard to get their own plan and guide for liability and safety reasons; Bernard Parker Jr. LLC will not be held liable for any injuries or illnesses they may sustain following your plan and guide.
Do you accept insurance?
No but if you have a flexible spending account or something similar, it may be possible to have health coaching and personal training services covered through that avenue.
How long do I work with you or how long are your programs?
You’ll work with Bernard as long as you need or want to. There is no set time limit or program duration, services are monthly, and you can cancel them whenever you like.
